Building Permits Surge by 35% in Cyprus During First Four Months of 2026

Nicosia: An increase of 10.7% was recorded in April in the number of building permits while in the first four months of the year the increase was 35.1%.

According to Cyprus News Agency, data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus on Monday indicated that the number of building permits authorized during April 2026 stood at 639, reflecting an increase of 10.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

The total value of these permits reached £413.0 million, covering a total area of 335.3 thousand square meters. These permits provide for the construction of 1,728 dwelling units.

During the period from January to April 2026, 2,915 building permits were issued compared to 2,157 in the corresponding period of the previous year, marking an increase of 35.1%. The total value of these permits rose by 46.1%, and the total area expanded by 45.5%. Additionally, the number of dwelling units saw an increase of 65.0%.
