The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, landed in Larnaca early on Sunday afternoon and as CNA learns, he is meeting with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides. Earlier on Sunday, during a visit to Korakou village in Nicosia District, the President stated that he would leave for Larnaca for a non-scheduled visit “within the context of the efforts that our country has undertaken in relation to the crisis in our region.” President Christodoulides has put forward a proposal for creating a humanitarian corridor to deliver aid to Gaza amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
