Beer Exports From Cyprus Plummet by 31% in May

Nicosia: Total beer deliveries in May 2026 fell by 2.4% compared with May 2025, mainly due to a significant 31% decline in exports, according to data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service on Monday.

According to Cyprus News Agency, total beer deliveries, which include both domestic market and exports, amounted to 4,389,649 liters in May 2026, compared to 4,497,608 liters in May 2025. This represents a decrease of 2.4%. However, beer deliveries to the domestic market saw a marginal increase of 0.3%, reaching 4,127,559 liters in May 2026.

In stark contrast, beer exports witnessed a sharp decline of 31.3%, dropping to 262,090 liters from 381,641 liters in May of the previous year. This sharp decrease in exports significantly contributed to the overall decline in beer deliveries.

Despite the year-on-year decline, total beer deliveries in May 2026 showed an increase of 984,623 liters, or 28.9%, compared to the previous month. This monthly growth suggests a potential recovery trend in the domestic market, although the significant drop in exports remains a concern for the industry.
