Nicosia: The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio in the banking sector stood at 5.9% at the end of May 2025, maintaining the same level as in April 2025. This information comes from the Central Bank of Cyprus’ updated aggregate banking sector data on non-performing loans.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the coverage ratio of NPLs with provisions saw an increase, reaching 61.0% at the end of May 2025, up from 60.7% at the end of April 2025. The report also highlighted that total restructured loans amounted to £1.3 billion by the end of May 2025, with £0.7 billion of these continuing to be classified as non-performing loans.
