Attorney General and Deputy AG to Attend Eurojust Consultative Forum in The Hague

Nicosia: Attorney General George Savvides and Deputy Attorney General Savvas Angelides are set to participate in the 19th Meeting of the Consultative Forum of the Prosecutors General and the Heads of Criminal Prosecutions of the EU member states, known as the Eurojust Consultative Forum. The event is scheduled to take place on October 2 and 3.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forum will address critical topics, including violations and circumventions of EU sanctions, combating criminal organizations, and tackling online investment fraud. The gathering aims to foster collaboration and strategies among EU member states to enhance the effectiveness of legal frameworks against these issues.

On the sidelines of the forum, Savvides and Angelides will engage in a preparatory meeting with Attorneys General from Denmark, Poland, and Ireland. These countries represent the outgoing and incoming holders of the EU’s rotating Presidency. This meeting will focus on coordinating efforts for the 20th Forum, which Cyprus will co-chair with Ireland in 2026.

In addition to their official duties, the heads of the Law Office will attend celebrations organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus. These events mark the anniversary of Cyprus Independence on October 1, providing an opportunity to commemorate the nation’s historical achievements.
