Advanced Autoradiography and Radiopharmacology Centre Now Operational in Cyprus

Nicosia: The European University Cyprus has announced the operational launch of the Advanced Autoradiography and Radiopharmacology Centre (ARC), marking a pivotal development for biomedical research and innovation in Cyprus. The center is the country's first infrastructure to offer advanced technologies in high-resolution digital autoradiography and the quantitative analysis of radiolabelled compounds.

According to Cyprus News Agency, ARC's capabilities allow for detailed investigations into drug-target interactions, provide insights into disease mechanisms, and support early-stage drug discovery, including the development of novel molecular imaging agents. Designed as an open-access facility, the Centre will be available to academic institutions, research organizations, healthcare providers, and the pharmaceutical industry, providing specialized equipment and scientific expertise to foster collaboration and knowledge transfer.

The official accreditation of the infrastructure is scheduled for completion on May 11. This project was funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU), through the Research and Innovation Foundation. With the establishment of ARC, European University Cyprus reaffirms its commitment to advancing biomedical innovation, supporting interdisciplinary research, and connecting Cyprus to Europe's growing network of scientific excellence.
