Action plan of agency for demographic and family policy approved in meeting

The National Agency for Demographic and Family Policy held its first meeting for 2024 on Thursday, during which the participants decided on the action plan to be followed and agreed on a number of activities to be promoted by the competent authorities.

Labor Minister Yiannis Panagiotou chaired the meeting which discussed a number of issues and decided that the planning for 2025 should begin the soonest.

The Agency’s objective is to monitor and record the current situation in Cyprus, in its areas of interest and to define a coherent and comprehensive strategy for demographic development and family-related policies.

Reference was made to the Government’s intention to assign an upgraded role to the Deputy Ministry of Welfare for demographic and family policy issues.

The Minister of Labor stated that the Government supports parents, children, families and attaches great importance to the cohesion of society because it is a condition for progress and prosperity.
