KOS: The Global Network of Environmental Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Open University of Cyprus, the University of the Aegean, and the University of Salerno, will host the 19th International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology. The event is scheduled to take place on the island of Kos from September 3 to September 6, 2025. The conference aims to unite experts from multiple scientific disciplines to address pressing environmental challenges, including climate change and ecosystem management.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the conference will be chaired by Professor Demetris-Francis Lekkas from the University of the Aegean, with assistance from co-chairs Professor Vincenzo Belgiorno of the University of Salerno and Associate Professor Antonis Zorpas of the Open University of Cyprus. Professor Zorpas also serves as the Director of the Master’s Degree Programme in ‘Sustainable Environmental Engineering’ and leads the Chemical Engineering and Engineering Sustainability Laboratory at the Open University of Cyprus.
The conference comes at a time when climate change is exerting significant pressure on natural ecosystems and human societies alike. Scientists will converge to discuss a wide array of critical environmental issues, including impacts on aquatic ecosystems, health, and biodiversity. The event will also explore management practices and the role of the circular economy in mitigating adverse environmental impacts, fostering innovative solutions, and enhancing the resilience of both environmental and economic systems. Interested participants are encouraged to submit their abstracts and articles by January 25, 2025, through the conference’s designated submission link.
