Yemen’s Houthis say death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Hudaydah rose to 6

ISTANBUL: The Yemeni Houthi group on Monday said the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Al-Hudaydah, western Yemen, reached six along with 57 others injured.

“The victims of Israeli aggression on the Al-Hudaydah province have risen to six people and 57 others injured, most of them in critical condition,” Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV reported.

On Sunday, the Israeli army said “dozens of aircraft hit military targets of the Houthi group in the Ras Issa and Al-Hudaydah regions of Yemen.”

The attack was in response to recent Houthi attacks on Israel, the military said.

Regional tensions have escalated due to Israel’s relentless offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 41,600 people, most of them women and children, following a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

The conflict also spread to Lebanon with Israel launching deadly strikes across the country, which have killed more than 960 people and injured over 2,700 others since Sept. 23.
