Nicosia: The Meteorological Department issued a yellow warning at 1608 local time on Wednesday for isolated heavy thunderstorms, valid from 11:00 until 18:00 local time on Thursday. According to Cyprus News Agency, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect mountainous areas, inland areas and the east, while hail is expected during thunderstorms. The precipitation rate is locally likely to exceed 35 millimetres per hour.
