Nicosia: The Department of Meteorology issued a yellow warning on Monday afternoon for extreme maximum temperatures, with temperatures expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius in inland areas on Tuesday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the warning will be in effect from 1400 to 1600 local time on Tuesday, August 11. The alert is a precautionary measure to ensure public safety as high temperatures can pose health risks, especially to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children. The public is advised to take necessary precautions, including staying hydrated and avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours.
