Weather Forecast Indicates Clear Skies for Cyprus Sea Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus covering an 8-kilometer radius seaward. The forecast, valid from the morning of January 15, 2026, to the morning of January 16, 2026, predicts mainly fine weather conditions across all coastal areas. According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1024 hPa, indicating a weak high-pressure system affecting the region. The visibility is expected to remain good throughout the forecast period, and the sea surface temperature is measured at 19°C. There are no significant warnings issued for the period. For the West Coast, winds will start from the northeast at a Beaufort scale of 3 in the morning, shifting to west to northwest in the afternoon, and returning to northeast at night, with the sea expected to be smooth to slight. On the South Coast, morning winds will vary from northwest to northeast, transitioning to southeast to southwest in the afternoon, an d settling to northwest by night, with similarly smooth to slight sea conditions. The East Coast will experience west to northwest winds in the morning, with variable winds in the afternoon and night. The North Coast will see northwest winds in the morning, transitioning to west to northwest in the afternoon, and variable winds at night, all maintaining a smooth to slight state of the sea.
