Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has forecasted predominantly fine weather conditions for the sea area surrounding Cyprus over the next 24 hours. A seasonal low-pressure system is currently influencing the region, which could lead to increased low cloud cover and local mist during the night and early morning hours.
According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is expected to be generally good, although it may reduce to moderate or poor in areas experiencing mist. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 27°C, and there are no warnings in place for the forecast period.
The wind and sea conditions vary across the different coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds will shift from northwest to northeast overnight, with the state of the sea ranging from slight to smooth. The morning will see southwest to northwest winds, while the afternoon may experience slightly stronger west to northwest winds, at times reaching locally 4 to 5 on the Beaufort scale.
For the south coast, winds will transition from southwest to northwest during the night, with sea conditions moving from slight to smooth. Morning winds will be southeast to southwest, increasing slightly in the afternoon to southwest 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5 in local areas.
The east coast will experience southwest to northwest winds overnight, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions throughout the morning. By afternoon, winds will shift to south to southwest, with occasional slight increases locally.
On the north coast, the night will see southeast to southwest winds, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. Morning winds will change from southwest to northwest, gradually strengthening to 3 to 4, with the afternoon bringing southwest to northwest winds at a slight intensity.
