Weather Forecast: Cyprus to Experience Cloudy Skies and Isolated Thunderstorms

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, expecting weak low-pressure conditions to influence the region over the next day. In the evening, the weather is anticipated to be partly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms likely to occur. Tonight and tomorrow morning, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected, particularly over the west and the north.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility in the affected areas is generally good but may become moderate to poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 20°C, and no warnings have been issued for the period. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was 1016hPa.

For the west coast, afternoon winds will be from the west to northwest at Beaufort scale 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5, with a slight sea state. Overnight, winds will shift to northwest at the same intensity, with the sea state ranging from slight to moderate. By morning, northwest winds will remain at force 5, and the sea state will transition from slight to moderate, eventually becoming moderate to rough.

The south coast will experience southwest winds at force 3 to 4 in the afternoon, occasionally reaching force 4, with a smooth to slight sea state. Overnight, winds will veer to northwest at force 4 and the sea will be slight. By morning, winds will increase to force 4 to 5, occasionally reaching force 5, with a slight to moderate sea state.

On the east coast, afternoon winds will be from the southwest to west at force 3 to 4, occasionally reaching force 4 offshore, with a smooth to slight sea state. Overnight, winds will maintain a force 4 from the southwest to west, with a slight sea state. By morning, winds will shift from southwest to northwest at force 4, with a slight sea state.

The north coast will experience southwest to northwest winds at force 4 in the afternoon, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, and a slight sea state. Overnight, winds will increase to force 4 to 5, locally reaching 5, with a slight to moderate sea state.
