Weak Low Pressure System Influences Cyprus Sea Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting that a weak low pressure system will affect the region. The forecast covers an area 8 kilometers seawards and spans from 1200 on May 12, 2026, to 1200 on May 13, 2026.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance is 1012 hPa. While the weather is expected to remain mainly fine, there is a possibility of increased low cloud cover and local mist forming during the early morning hours. Additionally, there may be dust in suspension, which could affect visibility.

Visibility is generally expected to be good, though it may occasionally become moderate. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 20°C. Importantly, no warnings have been issued for the forecast period, indicating that sea conditions are not expected to pose significant hazards.
