Weak Low Pressure Brings Cloud Coverage and Isolated Showers to Southern Coasts of Cyprus

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area extending 8 kilometers seawards from the coast of Cyprus, predicting mainly fine weather for the period from 1200 on April 20, 2026, until 1200 on April 21, 2026. Despite the overall pleasant conditions, there is a risk of locally increased cloud coverage, which may lead to isolated showers particularly affecting the southern coasts in the afternoon.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the weak low-pressure system currently affecting the area is exerting an atmospheric pressure of 1010 hPa. Visibility across the region is expected to remain good, with sea surface temperatures recorded at 18°C. The forecast indicates that winds will be measured on the Beaufort scale, although specific wind speeds have not been detailed. Importantly, there are no warnings currently in effect for the region, suggesting that the weather conditions, while changeable, are not expected to pose any significant threat to maritime activities during this period.
