Nicosia: Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will be in Nicosia on Wednesday for the official launch of Cyprus' Presidency of the Council of the EU.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the chief Commission spokesperson announced that von der Leyen will visit Nicosia following her trip to Paris on Tuesday, where she attended the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing for Ukraine. The visit to Nicosia marks the beginning of Cyprus' role in presiding over the Council of the EU.
After her engagement in Nicosia, von der Leyen is scheduled to travel to other countries in the region, including Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon on Thursday.
