Vafeades to Present Cyprus EU Presidency Transport Agenda at EP Committee Meeting

Brussels: The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Alexis Vafeades, is set to travel to Brussels to present the programme and priorities of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in the field of transport. This presentation will take place on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at a special meeting of the European Parliament's Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN).

According to Cyprus News Agency, Vafeades' visit will include a series of meetings, notably with the Chair of the European Parliament's Transport Committee, Eliza Vozemberg Vrionidi. These meetings aim to discuss key transport initiatives and foster collaboration on various transport-related issues within the EU.

In addition to the committee meeting, Vafeades will attend several events in Brussels. These include the inauguration of the artistic decoration of the Justus Lipsius and Europa buildings, designed in the colours of the Cyprus EU Presidency by artist Michalis Anastasiades. Furthermore, he will be present at the opening of the exhibition "Tourism for Europe, Europe for Tourism" and the "Nicosia International Airport" exhibition by Andros Efstathiou.
