Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, highlighting the impacts of a seasonal low-pressure system and an unstable air mass. The forecast, covering an 8-kilometer radius seawards, indicates that coastal areas will experience mainly fine weather with localized increases in low cloud coverage during the night and morning hours.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric conditions are characterized by a pressure reading of 1010 hPa, and no warnings have been issued for the area. The visibility over the sea remains good, with a sea surface temperature recorded at 29°C.
The forecast details variable wind patterns across different coastal areas. On the west coast, winds will shift from northwest to north during the night, transitioning to northeast and southeast in the morning, and finally, west to northwest in the afternoon. The sea state in this area is expected to range from smooth to slight, with occasional slight conditions locally.
Similarly, the south coast will see winds transitioning from northwest to northeast at night, moving to southeast and southwest in the morning, and settling at southwest to west in the afternoon. The sea state here will also be smooth to slight, with locally slight conditions during peak times.
The east coast will experience southwest to northwest winds at night, which will gradually turn southeast to southwest by morning and remain south to southwest in the afternoon. The sea is anticipated to remain smooth to slight throughout the period.
On the north coast, winds will start from south to southwest at night, shifting to southeast and southwest by morning, and finally moving to southwest to northwest in the afternoon. The sea conditions are expected to be smooth to slight, with occasional slight conditions locally.
