Unsettled Weather Forecasted for Cyprus Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast predicting unsettled weather conditions for the coastal regions of Cyprus. The forecast, which spans from 0600 on April 18, 2026, to 0600 on April 19, 2026, details the atmospheric conditions expected to affect the area extending 8 kilometers seawards. According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast indicates that a low-pressure system is influencing the region, resulting in mainly cloudy skies. Isolated showers or thunderstorms are anticipated during the early morning hours over the western and northern coasts. As the day progresses, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop initially over these areas and later extend to the southern and eastern coasts. Additionally, dust in suspension may impact air quality. Visibility in the area is expected to be moderate, with periods of poor visibility due to the weather conditions. The sea surface temperature is reported to be 18°C. Despite the unsettled weather, no official war nings have been issued.
