Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday said in a video message to the Summit of the International Crimea Platform that "Russia has not succeeded in bending the heroic Ukrainian resistance and our firmness and unity of intent have guaranteed the necessary aid for Ukraine to defend its freedom". "And this is a value which we must know how to protect if we want peace to return to the heart of Europe", Meloni said. "Dear Volodymyr (Zelensky), we will continue to be by your side. "Italy will do it also as G7 president because our objective is to end this war and help Ukraine in the path towards a future of peace, freedom and prosperity", said the Italian prime minister.
