Unemployment in Cyprus Drops by 6.6% Annually

Nicosia: The number of unemployed persons in Cyprus experienced an annual decrease of 6.6% as of July.

According to Cyprus News Agency, data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus revealed that the unemployed persons registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of July 2025 totaled 11,088.

The seasonally adjusted data, which highlights unemployment trends, showed an increase in registered unemployed persons for July 2025, rising to 10,081 from 9,947 in the previous month. Despite this monthly increase, the annual comparison with July 2024 reflected a decrease of 789 persons or 6.6%.

This decline in unemployment is primarily attributed to reductions in key sectors such as education, construction, financial and insurance activities, manufacturing, and the number of newcomers entering the labor market.
