Nicosia: Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Ersin Tatar has reiterated his insistence on a two-state solution in Cyprus, emphasizing that the Greek Cypriot side has shown no intention to reach a solution.
According to TRTworld.com, Tatar reiterated his stance on Tuesday during a meeting with Colin Stewart, the UN Secretary-General’s Cyprus envoy and head of the UN Peacekeeping Force, who was visiting for a farewell as he prepares to step down on Saturday.
After the meeting, Tatar expressed gratitude to Stewart for his service, noting that Stewart had always maintained an open and clear stance. Tatar acknowledged Stewart’s efforts, stating, “I know that he deeply cares about Turkish Cypriots and looks after their interests, and he always tried to be constructive about this.”
