Nicosia: Revenue from tourism increased by 0.2% in June 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, marking a slight recovery after three months of decline. According to data published on Monday by the Statistical Service, the increase brought tourism revenue to pound 423.1 million in June 2026, up from pound 422.3 million in June 2025.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the first half of 2026 has seen a significant decline in tourism revenue. From January to June 2026, the revenue from tourism was estimated at pound 1,221.3 million, which is down by 11.4% compared to the pound 1,378.1 million recorded in the same period of the previous year.
The average expenditure per person also rose, with tourists spending pound 863.62 on average in June 2026, an increase of 2% from the pound 847.01 spent in June 2025. Tourists from the United Kingdom, which formed the largest group with 33% of total tourists in June 2026, spent an average of pound 103.98 per day. Meanwhile, tourists from Israel, the second largest market with 16.4% of total tourists, had a higher daily expenditure of pound 174.27. Tourists from Poland, the third largest market with 7.3%, spent pound 84.37 per day on average.
