Total Lunar Eclipse to Grace Cyprus Skies on September 7th

Nicosia: Total Lunar Eclipse on the evening of Sunday, September 7th, 2025, will be entirely visible from Cyprus during its main stages, Troodos Observatory notes, announcing that an eclipse observation event will take place at the observatory. Events will be posted on www.troodosobservatory.com and on social media.

According to Cyprus News Agency, on September 7th, the Moon will rise at 18:59 while the early penumbral eclipse stage is underway, which is hardly visible to the unaided eye. At 19:28, the Moon begins to enter the Earth’s shadow, signaling the start of the partial eclipse stage.

At 20:30, the Moon becomes completely covered by the Earth’s shadow and shines with its characteristic deep red/brown color during the total eclipse stage. At 21:12, while the Moon is at 24° altitude in the eastern sky, totality occurs, and the phenomenon reaches its maximum.

At 21:52, the Moon begins to exit the main part of the Earth’s shadow, and approximately one hour later, the penumbral exit phase begins. The phenomenon ends at 23:55 with the Moon at 47° in the southeastern sky.
