The BASH 2026 Unites Over 200 Stakeholders to Strengthen Cyprus’ Innovation Ecosystem

Nicosia: More than 200 representatives from Cyprus' research, innovation, and entrepreneurship sectors gathered at The BASH 2026, the annual networking event organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).

According to Cyprus News Agency, the event, themed "Let's Cheers to Innovation Together!", provided a platform for startups, scaleups, researchers, academics, investors, and public sector representatives to connect and explore collaborative opportunities. It featured addresses from key figures such as Mr. Demetris Skourides, Chairman of the RIF Board and Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation, and Technology, Mr. Theodoros Loukaidis, Director General of RIF, and Mr. Constantinos Kleovoulou, representing the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy.

Mr. Demetris Skourides emphasized the importance of collective efforts in advancing Cyprus' innovation ecosystem, while Mr. Theodoros Loukaidis highlighted Cyprus' improved global ranking of 39th in the StartupBlink Startup Ecosystem Index. Mr. Konstantinos Kleovoulou reiterated the government's commitment to fostering collaboration to enhance the research and innovation landscape.

The event underscored Cyprus' progress in research and innovation, emphasizing the value of cooperation among public and private sectors, universities, and businesses. The BASH 2026, part of RIF's Innovation Factory initiative and the Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus, has solidified its role as a key meeting point for fostering new synergies and impactful collaborations within Cyprus' innovation community.
