Nicosia: “The Bash 2025: The Startup and Innovation Community Networking Event” brought together 185 participants from the Cypriot innovation ecosystem, marking a significant milestone in its fifth year. The event is part of the Research and Innovation Foundation’s Innovation Factory initiative and the activities of the Enterprise Europe Network Cyprus.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the event gathered representatives from startups, innovative companies, investors, support service providers, academic and research institutions, and public sector bodies. The increased participation from previous years underscores the ecosystem’s steady growth and maturation in Cyprus.
The event featured remarks from Dr. Nicodemos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, who emphasized the crucial role of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) as the state’s executive arm for funding allocation. He highlighted recent initiatives, like the ‘AI in Government’ call for proposals, as evidence of the foundation’s ongoing support.
Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology, Demetris Skourides, stressed the importance of transforming Cyprus into a regional innovation hub, noting that this requires collaboration across the ecosystem and consistent state support.
Theodoros Loucaides, Director General of RIF, noted the encouraging development of the Cypriot ecosystem, reflected in this year’s event format. He affirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting initiatives that foster innovation growth in Cyprus.
