Strong Winds to Impact Cyprus Coastal Areas, Meteorological Department Issues Warning

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, highlighting the impact of weak low pressure affecting the region. The weather is expected to be mainly cloudy with local showers and low concentrations of dust in suspension. According to Cyprus News Agency, a warning has been issued for strong and occasionally near gale northeasterly to southeasterly winds, reaching Force 6 Beaufort and at times Force 7 Beaufort. These winds will affect the coastal parts of Cyprus, with the southern, western, and northern parts experiencing moderate to rough sea conditions. The rest of the coastal areas will encounter moderate to rough and locally rough seas. For the West Coast, the morning will see winds from the east to southeast at Force 6 to 7, with coastal areas experiencing slightly less intensity at Force 5. The sea state will be moderate to rough, becoming slightly calmer near the coast. By the afternoon, winds will decrease to Force 5 to 6 but remain rough in certain areas. Overnight, winds will shift from east to southeast to northeast, ranging from Force 3 to 4, resulting in moderate to slightly moderate seas. The South Coast will experience northeast to east winds at Force 5 to 6 in the morning, with some areas reaching Force 6 to 7. The sea state will be moderate, becoming moderate to rough in some locations. By the afternoon, winds will decrease to Force 4 to 5, leading to a slight to moderate sea state overnight as winds continue to subside. For the East Coast, the morning will bring northeast to east winds at Force 6, quickly increasing to Force 6 to 7, with rough seas expected. As the day progresses, winds will decrease to Force 4 to 5, maintaining a rough sea state. At night, the winds will range from Force 5 to 6, with moderate to rough seas expected. The North Coast will see northeast to east winds at Force 5 to 6 in the morning, with some areas reaching Force 6 to 7. This will result in moderate to rough seas, becoming locally rough. The afternoon will main tain similar conditions with northeast to east winds at Force 6, locally reaching Force 7. Overnight, the winds will shift from northeast to southeast, ranging from Force 6 to 7, with occasional decreases to Force 4, maintaining moderate to rough seas.
