Nicosia: Weak high pressure currently affecting Cyprus will be replaced by weak low pressure tomorrow, as forecasted by the Department of Meteorology. The weather will be mainly cloudy at times, with medium and high cloud coverage and isolated showers expected from tonight, accompanied by low concentrations of dust in suspension.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of issue was recorded at 1025 hPa. Warnings have been issued for strong and at times near gale northeasterly to southeasterly winds, reaching force 6 Beaufort and occasionally up to 7 Beaufort. These conditions will affect the western, northern, and locally the southern coastal areas until 212100 LT. Sea conditions are expected to be moderate to rough, particularly over the western and northern coasts.
The forecast details variable wind patterns across different coastal regions. The west coast will experience east to southeast winds of force 5 to 6 Beaufort, becoming 6 to 7 in the morning. The south coast will see northeast to east winds ranging from force 4 to 6. The east coast will have similar wind conditions, with forces between 4 to 6 Beaufort, while the north coast will experience northeast to east winds of force 5 to 7 Beaufort. Sea surface temperature is currently at 18°C, with visibility remaining good but moderate during showers.
