Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating that low-pressure conditions will influence the sea area around Cyprus, resulting in partly cloudy weather with local showers and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, particularly around the western, northern, and southern coastal areas. These adverse weather conditions are expected to improve gradually from tonight, although dust suspension will persist until then.
According to Cyprus News Agency, strong southwesterly to westerly winds, reaching up to 6 on the Beaufort scale, are anticipated to impact the coastal areas during this period. The sea state is currently moderate but is predicted to become rough, with the western coastal areas experiencing particularly rough to very rough conditions later on.
The forecast outlines specific conditions for each coastal area. On the west coast, afternoon winds will shift from southwest to west at force 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5 to 6, with the sea becoming rough. During the night, winds will transition to west to northwest, maintaining force 5 to 6, and the sea will remain rough. By morning, similar conditions are expected to persist.
For the south coast, winds will follow a similar pattern, transitioning from southwest to northwest, with moderate to rough seas expected throughout the period. The east coast will experience moderate conditions, with winds shifting from southwest to northwest, while offshore winds may reach force 5 to 6. The north coast will see moderate to rough seas, with southwest to west winds transitioning to northwest overnight, maintaining similar conditions into the morning.
