Strong Winds and Isolated Thunderstorms Forecasted for Cyprus’ Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating that low atmospheric pressure is temporarily affecting the region. The weather conditions for the specified period are expected to be partly cloudy with isolated showers and a risk of isolated thunderstorms, impacting visibility which may range from good to moderate or poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is currently recorded at 18°C.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a warning has been issued for strong winds that are expected to affect the southwestern and occasionally the northern coastal regions of Cyprus. These winds, ranging from southwesterly to westerly, are predicted to reach force 6 and at times up to force 7 on the Beaufort scale, indicating near-gale conditions. Consequently, the state of the sea in these areas is anticipated to be moderate and occasionally rough. These conditions are expected to prevail from 1200 on March 29, 2026, until 1800 the same day, as per Warning Number 32 issued by the meteorological department.
