Nicosia: Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare is hosting in Nicosia the informal meeting of the European Union's Social Protection Committee (SPC), within the framework of the Cyprus Presidency. The meeting is taking place Wednesday and Thursday, a press release from the Deputy Ministry says.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the meeting will be attended by members of the Social Protection Committee, representatives of the European Commission, and member states. They will exchange views on critical social policy issues at the European level.
The main topic of discussion will be the role of support services in reducing poverty and enhancing social inclusion. The SPC informal meeting is part of the broader objective of the Cyprus Presidency for a substantive exchange of good practices between member states and for further strengthening the social dimension of the EU, contributing to a more cohesive, resilient, and inclusive Europe, the Deputy Ministry says.
