Nicosia: Sixteen bounced cheques were recorded in August 2025, with a total value of £52,891, as reported by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) on Wednesday. This information comes from the preliminary list of the Central Information Register.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the total number of legal and natural persons registered in the preliminary list of the Central Information Register in August 2025 amounted to six, comprising two legal and four natural persons. From January to August 2025, the Central Bank reported that 161 bounced cheques were registered on the preliminary list, with a cumulative value of £365,490.
The bounced cheques during the January – August 2025 period involved a total of 82 persons, including 46 legal entities and 36 natural persons. Additionally, CBC data indicated that the number of persons registered in August 2025 was 17, consisting of six legal entities, four natural persons, and seven natural persons controlling legal entities.
Furthermore, during the January – August 2025 timeframe, a total of 80 persons were registered in the archive, which included 29 legal entities, 18 natural persons, and 33 natural persons controlling legal entities.
