Brussels:The Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Marina Hadjimanolis, will travel to Brussels on Monday. She has been invited by the European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, to take part in the Connecting Europe Days 2026, an event focused on transport, connectivity, and strategic infrastructure.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Hadjimanolis's participation is part of Cyprus's active role in shaping European transport and maritime policies. It also aligns with the Shipping Deputy Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance a competitive, resilient, and sustainable European maritime sector.

Hadjimanolis is scheduled to speak at the high-level plenary session titled 'Gateways to Europe and the World Ports and the Maritime Sector in Transition' on September 29. During this session, she will address the challenges and opportunities facing the European maritime sector, considering geopolitical developments, energy transition, competitiveness, resilience, and decarbonisation.
