Nicosia: The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Bratislav Ga€¦¡ic, is set to arrive in Cyprus for an official visit from December 9 to 10, 2025. He will be hosted by his Cypriot counterpart, Vasilis Palmas, as part of the visit agenda.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the primary objective of Ga€¦¡ic’s visit will be the signing of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the Republic of Cyprus and the Republic of Serbia. This agreement marks a significant step in enhancing institutional cooperation between the two nations in the areas of defence and security.
The visit will also include discussions between the two Defence Ministers on current bilateral cooperation and potential avenues for further collaboration, particularly in the domains of operations, equipment, and training. The Ministers are also expected to exchange views on Serbia’s relationship with the EU and discuss the implications of the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Additionally, the talks will cover current international and regional developments in the Western Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean, and the Middle East.
