Seasonal Low Pressure Influences Cyprus Sea Area with Mist Risk

Nicosia: Seasonal low pressure is currently affecting the sea area surrounding Cyprus, according to the Cyprus Department of Meteorology. The forecast, which covers an 8-kilometer range seawards, highlights that the weather will predominantly remain fine. However, the department warns of increased low cloud coverage overnight and during the morning, particularly over the eastern and southeastern coastal areas.

According to Cyprus News Agency, there is a possibility of local mist forming around dawn, which may lead to moderate to poor visibility in affected regions. Despite these conditions, the overall visibility is expected to remain good. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the report issuance was recorded at 1010 hectopascals.

Sea surface temperatures are currently at 28°C, and no warnings have been issued for the period between 1200 on September 15, 2025, and 1200 on September 16, 2025. The forecast suggests that residents and visitors should remain aware of the potential for mist and low cloud coverage during early morning hours.
