Seasonal Low Pressure Brings Mist and Fog to Cyprus Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating seasonal low pressure affecting the Cyprus sea area. The weather along the coastal regions is expected to be predominantly fine. However, during the night and morning hours, increased low cloud cover will be observed locally. Additionally, mist and fog patches are anticipated to form over the eastern areas around dawn, impacting visibility.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is forecasted to be generally good, but it could become moderate to poor in misty conditions and very poor in fog. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 29°C, with no warnings issued for the period. The wind and sea conditions vary across different coasts throughout the day.

For the west coast, winds will initially be from the northwest to northeast at force 3 during the night, shifting to southeast to southwest in the morning, and then to southwest to northwest in the afternoon. The sea state is expected to be smooth to slight, with some areas experiencing slightly rougher conditions in the afternoon.

On the south coast, variable winds from northwest to northeast at night will transition to southeast to southwest in the morning, becoming southwest to west in the afternoon. The sea will generally be smooth to slight, occasionally becoming slightly rougher locally.

The east coast will see southwest to northwest winds at night, moving to southeast to southwest by morning, and settling to south to southwest in the afternoon. Offshore areas may experience slightly rougher conditions in the afternoon.

The north coast will have southeast to southwest winds at night, shifting to southwest to northwest by morning, and maintaining a similar pattern in the afternoon. The sea conditions will range from smooth to slight, with some local variations.
