Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating that the seasonal low pressure system is currently affecting the Cyprus sea area. The weather is expected to be predominantly fine; however, there is a risk of locally increased low cloud coverage during the night and early morning hours, which could lead to mist and fog patches primarily over the southern and eastern coastal regions.
According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is generally good but may reduce to moderate or poor in misty conditions, and become very poor in areas affected by fog. The current atmospheric pressure stands at 1009 hPa, and the sea surface temperature is recorded at 29°C. No weather warnings have been issued at this time.
In terms of wind conditions and the state of the sea, variations are expected throughout the day across different coastal areas. On the west coast, winds will shift from northwest to northeast at night, becoming southwest by morning, and then transitioning to west to northwest in the afternoon. The sea will range from smooth to slight, with occasional increases to slight conditions. The south coast will experience similar changes, with winds ranging from southwest to northwest and eventually becoming variable. The east coast will see a gradual shift in wind direction from southwest to northwest and later to northeast to southeast, while the north coast will maintain a smoother sea state with slight variations in wind directions throughout the day.
