Seasonal Low Pressure Brings Mist and Fog Risks to Cyprus Sea Area

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating the influence of a seasonal low-pressure system. The forecast, valid from 0600 on July 30, 2025, until 0600 on July 31, 2025, anticipates mainly fine weather with periods of locally increased low cloud coverage. Residents and visitors should be cautious during night and dawn, as there is a risk of local mist and fog patches, particularly over the southern and eastern parts of the region.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1005 hPa (hectopascal). While visibility is generally good, it is expected to decrease to moderate or poor levels in mist and become very poor in areas affected by fog. The sea surface temperature is currently at 27°C, posing no immediate concerns for maritime activities. Importantly, the department has not issued any warnings for the period.

This forecast serves as a reminder for those in the region to remain vigilant, especially during the identified hours of potential reduced visibility. The Cyprus Department of Meteorology continues to monitor the situation closely and provides updates as necessary.
