Seasonal Low Pressure Brings Calm Seas to Cyprus

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating mainly fine weather conditions and seasonal low pressure affecting the region. Covering an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, the forecast predicts calm and pleasant conditions for seafarers. According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the issuance of the forecast was measured at 1009 hPa. The department has assessed that the weather will remain predominantly fine throughout the specified period, with good visibility being reported. The sea surface temperature is currently at 28°C, offering warm waters for maritime activities. The forecast, which spans from 0600 on August 3 to 0600 on August 4, 2026, does not include any warnings, assuring safe conditions for those navigating the waters. Winds are measured using the Beaufort scale, although specific wind speeds were not detailed in the forecast. The absence of any meteorological warnings is expected to benef it local fishermen and tourists engaging in water-related activities.
