Nicosia: The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), in partnership with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, has announced the launch of the new flagship funding programme ‘AI in Government’. This initiative aims to drive digital transformation in the public sector through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
According to Cyprus News Agency, the programme is a part of the Government’s initiatives outlined by the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, in the 2025 annual governance programme. It represents a significant step in utilizing innovation to modernize the state.
The programme targets Cypriot businesses and other entities, supporting the development of innovative AI solutions to address specific challenges faced by public authorities. The initial challenges focus on creating an early warning system for extreme weather events and providing agrometeorological support for the agricultural sector.
