Regional Developments and Stronger Ties at Cyprus-Greece-Egypt Trilateral Says President

El alamein: The trilateral meeting between Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt, scheduled to take place in El Alamein on Tuesday, September 8, is set to address all developments in the wider region, including the Mecca agreement, according to President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides. The agenda will also focus on strengthening trilateral cooperation among the three nations.

According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides confirmed that discussions would encompass regional developments, stating, "Certainly, developments in the region - I do not want to speak on behalf of Egypt, some relevant statements have been made - certainly all developments in the region will be discussed." He emphasized the importance of the meeting, highlighting the 'excellent relations' between Cyprus and Egypt.

The meeting will center on two main issues: developments in the wider region and the enhancement of trilateral cooperation. President Christodoulides believes that Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt can contribute positively to fostering security and cooperation in this geostrategically significant region.

Additionally, President Christodoulides expressed satisfaction with the European Union's recognition of the region's importance, a result of efforts by Cyprus and other EU member states. He noted the upcoming second European Union-Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Saudi Arabia in October, which he plans to attend.
