Nicosia: Cyprus is experiencing a significant rise in temperatures, with several regions recording some of the highest temperatures of the season. According to Cyprus News Agency, the Department of Meteorology released the latest data indicating that several areas across the island are experiencing high temperatures, with Nicosia (Athalassa) recording a peak of 40°C.
The report highlights varying temperatures across different weather stations. Larnaka Airport recorded a high of 34°C, while Limassol also observed a similar temperature of 34°C. Pafos Airport noted a slightly cooler temperature at 32°C, whereas Frenaros experienced 35°C. The mountainous region of Prodromos reported a high of 29°C, and Polis Pafos saw temperatures rise to 37°C.
The data also showed varying humidity levels across the regions, contributing to the overall weather conditions. Humidity at 1200 UTC was recorded at 25% in Nicosia (Athalassa), 63% at Larnaka Airport, 55% in Limassol, and a higher 79% at Pafos Airport. Frenaros reported 57% humidity, Prodromos 32%, and Polis Pafos 40%.
These weather patterns are influencing daily life and activities across the island, prompting residents to take necessary precautions to cope with the heat.
