Nicosia: Preparations for the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026 were discussed at a meeting of the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, with a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Cyprus EU Council Presidency 2026 Secretariat announced in a press release that the delegation from Brussels is visiting Cyprus as part of the preparations for the upcoming presidency. Raouna engaged with the officials from the General Secretariat to deliberate on the preparations and the efforts being coordinated by the Cyprus Presidency Secretariat. She also conveyed her appreciation to the General Secretariat of the Council for their cooperation with Nicosia on numerous significant matters.
The press release further detailed that the delegation toured the conference centre on Tuesday morning. This venue, currently undergoing renovation, is set to host high-level meetings in Cyprus during the six-month Presidency.
