Rain and Thunderstorms to Subside in Cyprus by Tomorrow

Accra:The weather in Cyprus is expected to improve significantly starting tomorrow, as rain and thunderstorms subside. Michalis Mouskos, a Senior Meteorological Officer at the Department of Meteorology, conveyed this update.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a low-pressure system currently impacting the region will continue through Saturday, with its effects being more pronounced today compared to Friday or Saturday. Some showers are already occurring in the western half of the island, with intermittent rain and brief thunderstorms expected in the interior, the western regions, and the northern coast until 1800 today.

Tonight, the weather is forecast to improve notably in the interior and mountainous areas, with no precipitation expected. However, there may still be isolated rain showers along the coast, though these will not be significant. Mouskos also mentioned the possibility of patchy fog in inland areas late tonight and tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow morning could bring isolated rain showers along the coast, but by the afternoon, rain or brief thunderstorms might occur inland, in mountainous regions, and along the northern coasts, albeit less frequently than today.

Temperatures today and tomorrow are predicted to be around 26°C, which is 3°C below the seasonal average for inland areas. Meanwhile, coastal regions, particularly in the west and north, will experience temperatures close to the average of 27°C. These conditions are expected to persist through Monday.

On Saturday, isolated rain showers are anticipated during the day, with more localized rain expected at night, mainly in the western half of the island. The weather is expected to be mostly clear on Sunday and Monday, with occasional increased cloudiness. No significant weather changes are anticipated for next week until Wednesday unless unexpected developments occur.
