Nicosia: Unstable weather conditions are expected in Cyprus on Monday and Tuesday, with local rain and thunderstorms mainly after midday in the mountainous areas and the eastern part of the island, Meteorological Officer Andreas Chrysanthou told CNA on Saturday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Chrysanthou said the pattern would be similar to recent weeks, as mornings will be mainly clear with clouds locally, while later in the day, bringing rain and thunderstorms. On Saturday, he noted that local clouds will bring some rain to mountainous areas after midday, with an isolated thunderstorm possible on the highest peaks. Most areas will remain mostly clear, with local clouds.
Sunday will start mostly clear but will gradually become cloudy, with isolated rain expected initially from medium and high clouds. As of midday, clouds are expected to develop over the mountains, northern areas, and possibly in areas of the interior, bringing isolated rain or a thunderstorm. Thin dust will be observed at intervals on Saturday and Sunday, in low concentrations, but conditions are expected to improve next week. Winds will generally be moderate in the coming days, Chrysanthou noted.
