Postgraduate Program in Human Resource Management of the University of Cyprus

An innovative, unique, Postgraduate Program is offered by the Department of Business and Public Administration of the University of Cyprus. This is the Postgraduate Program in Human Resource Management (MScHRM), which offers comprehensive and in-depth knowledge in the field of HRM, in order to provide its graduates with a significant competitive advantage in their careers. The Program is suitable for people with or without a previous background in the field of HRM. Its main goal is to provide a constructive environment, where students acquire a strong background, either to pursue doctoral studies, or to develop as professionals in the field of HRM. The duration of studies is from 3 to 8 semesters.

Professor Eleni Stavrou, Director of the MScHRM, notes that the Program has been developed according to the highest standards adopted in similar programs at leading universities, internationally. “Through the lectures offered, the program provides the academic knowledge and background for specialization in human resource management. At the same time, through the workshops, it prepares HR professionals with the state-of-the-art practical tools to better manage the human resources of their respective organizations. Human Resource Management is an essential component in the competitiveness, efficiency and viability of any organization”, emphasizes Professor Eleni Stavrou.

The MScHRM is offered in English and it is available in various options, as follows:

Part-time Program (duration of 30 months that can be extended up to 48 months). The part-time program is aimed mainly at professionals who wish to pursue postgraduate studies, while at the same time having a demanding work program.

Full-time program (duration of 18 months), which follows a more intensive teaching program.

Scholarships – Discounts: As a non-profit program, it has the opportunity to offer scholarships and discounts to a number of Public Sector executives, under certain conditions and criteria, which are applied on a case by case basis.

Admission Criteria

Recognized Undergraduate Diploma, with a minimum grade of 7.0 (with an excellent of 10) or equivalent (eg 2: 1 based on the United Kingdom system). The thematic unit of the degree does not concern.

Certificate of proficient knowledge of the English language, equivalent to at least C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), e.g. IELTS Academic 7.0, Aptis Advanced C1, TOEFL iBT 95, IGCSE / GCE B.

Two letters of recommendation from academics and / or supervisors at work.

Curriculum vitae and cover letter for expression of interest (500 words – in English).

Personal interview (in Greek and English).
