Nicosia: President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, has received congratulatory messages from foreign officials on the occasion of the anniversary of Cyprus Independence Day.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the progress Cyprus has made under President Christodoulides’s leadership, particularly in areas such as national development, living standards, scientific and technological innovation, and green development. Xi noted the upcoming anniversaries of diplomatic relations and strategic cooperation between China and Cyprus, expressing his commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and maintaining mutual respect and trust.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi also extended his congratulations, emphasizing the strong friendship and mutual respect between the two countries. He expressed confidence in the potential to expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
Additionally, a message from US State Secretary Marco Rubio echoed sentiments from his press statement on Cyprus’ National Day, contributing to the chorus of international well-wishes directed at the Cypriot President.
