President of the Hellenic Parliament Concludes Visit to Cyprus with Emotional Tribute

Nicosia: The President of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, concluded his visit to Cyprus with a heartfelt ceremony at the ‘Lieutenant General Sotirios Stavrianakos’ Camp of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK) in Malounta.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Kaklamanis’ visit included a series of important meetings, including discussions with the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the President of the House of Representatives. Additionally, he addressed the House of Representatives during a special session on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, Kaklamanis attended the military parade marking the 65th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus’ independence. During the event, he conveyed a message of unity between Greece and Cyprus in their continued struggle for liberation.

He also met with Archbishop of Cyprus Georgios before heading to the ‘Lieutenant General Sotirios Stavrianakos’ Camp. There, Kaklamanis laid a wreath at the Fallen Heroes’ Memorial, honoring those who died during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. He was also given a tour of the museum located at the site before departing for Athens.
