Nicosia: The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, held exchanges today with leaders of Middle East countries on the need for de-escalation and dialogue in the region.
According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides posted on X about his conversation with Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani of the State of Qatar regarding the evolving developments in the region. He reiterated Cyprus's condemnation of the unjustified and indiscriminate attacks against Gulf countries and expressed Cyprus' steadfast solidarity. The two leaders agreed on the importance of working towards de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue to ensure regional security and stability.
In another post on X, President Christodoulides shared his discussion with King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan concerning the ongoing regional escalation. They agreed to maintain close contact to work towards de-escalation and safeguard regional stability and security.
